1 – 75 Hard – Take Control of Your Life
Andy Frisella and his podcast are in my regular rotation. In early 2023, I needed a reset. I was overweight, lacked motivation, felt tired all the time, and struggled with discipline in many areas of my life. I give grace to any parent of young kids (I had a two-year-old at the time), but I knew that if I wasn’t striving to be the best version of myself, I was falling short as a husband and father.
On February 13, 2023, I started the program: 75 days straight of:
- Two workouts a day
- Drinking one gallon of water
- Following a diet (I chose CrossFit’s prescription: meats and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch, no sugar) — and no alcohol
- Reading 10 pages of a physical book
- Taking a daily progress photo
I won’t lie — this program isn’t for most people. It’s ridiculously challenging. I questioned myself many times, but as I started feeling better, I realized I needed to push through to prove to myself that I’m in control of my decisions.
By the end of Day 75, I had read five books (more than I had read in years), lost 30 pounds, and developed a much stronger sense of discipline. My brain felt completely reprogrammed — in the best way. I felt like I had gotten my life back on track.
To this day, I still follow many of these five tasks, though with less strict adherence. I’m a huge fan of this simple (but not easy) program that delivers life-changing results.

2 – Meal Prep Service – Factor 75
With two little ones, my wife and I have had a hard time finding the time to meal prep lunches. This usually leads us to picking up something on the go — which is either healthy and expensive, or cheap and unhealthy. To solve this problem, I decided to order a box of premade meals from Factor and give them a shot.
I chose Factor because the price was reasonable, the meals had a solid calorie count (~500 cals for most options), and — based on the pictures — the food looked pretty good. We’re in Week 1 now and opted for 10 meals. The delivery process was super easy: meals arrived on Monday, and we were set for the week.
Taste-wise, I’d rate the handful of meals I’ve tried so far around a 7 out of 10. Not the most delicious lunches I’ve ever had, but having something ready to go that helps me make a healthy choice has made them worth it so far.
